Photographer’s Note

The river Rhine and the village and fortress of Ehrenbreitstein. The fortress has an unique situation opposite Koblenz, where the Moselle flows into the Rhine. The origins go back to the 10th century when it was initially buil by Ehrenbbrecht and was known under the name Ehrenbrechtstein. In 1020 it was owned by the arch-bishop of Trier. It was used to safeguard the treasure of the bisdom. In 1800 it became the property of the "Kurfürst* and was expanded. The French troops erased it in 1801 but was rebuild, after Napoleon's defeat, between 1815 and 1830. And up to this date it is a perfect example of Prussian classicism. Today there is a youth hostel in the fortress..
I ran the image through Neat image. Coloours are natural.
