Photographer's Note

Here I show you some wild strawberries (Fragaria vesca), which I found yesterday in the forest behind my house. They grow galore at sunny places there. Their flavour is much better than the flavour of their cultivated relatives. It's a little bit exhausting to pick them - they have a size of about 1 - 1,5 cm - but a fistful of these fruits is a wonderful experience of taste! It's really worth the effort...
I would like to send you some via email... ;-)

By the way, do you know that strawberries in fact are no real fruits but so called spurious fruits. That means, we actually eat the bottom of the bloom. You know for example the white cone which remains at the stalk, if you pick a raspberry. That's botanical the same as a strawberry.
