‘Monschau - Wall art’
Monschau is a small town at the Rur in the Eifel region in the west of Germany. It is located in Städteregion Aachen in Nordrhein-Westfalen.
The typical facades of the half-timbered houses bear witness to a rich cultural history.
Most of these half-timbered houses were built about 300 years ago. Walking through the historic center of Monschau gives visitors the opportunity to discover a lot of small things, small gems sometimes hidden behind a corner.
The picture was taken on a cloudy day late December when the sun was shining for a moment.
In the workshop a larger view of the houses along the river side.

Hi Paul
an excellent composition choice.
The facades of these half-timbered houses give the photographer lots to work with.
the graphic side of it is very high, even just viewing the photo it makes my eyes hurt! :)
but thats good, it means it has a dramatic visual effect!
fine compo

Hi Paul,
a gorgeous composition in this good framing on the facade of a few wonderful half-timbered houses.
The slight diagonal of the visual angle, and the great game of light and shades on the houses, create a breathtaking image, with a strong graphical sense.
A skillful execution.

Hi Paul,
good idea to crop the shot so tightly to make the most of the natural lines within the buildings.

Dag Paul,
Heel mooi arcchiteur beeld. Bedankt.
Groeten,
John.

Dag Paul,
Groetjes,
Christian

Hi Paul,
It's certainly easiest to comment on someone's most recent photo, and this one has made that even more true to form! :) What an eye catcher, I love this tight framing of the facades. So many wonderful lines, shapes and fun play of light & shadow. It's almost overwhelming, but in a very nice way. I particularly like the bit of German print on the foreground windows. Great composition, thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Jason

Good array of identical colour and forms, taken dynamically to maximise this impact depicting a fine visual description of architecture of the past era but full of charm and characters. Must be an amazing place to visit and absorb the atmosphere. Indeed an intriguing shit, I feel that touch of green is fine addtion. Well done. TFS

Hello Paul,
this is a striking image. It's great how the effective perspective allows the composition to breathe in the tight frame and how the excellent light and contrast management as well as the superb definition offer a very delightful impression of this intricate play of architectural patterns and shadows. The lit parts have a fantastic brilliance and the colours are wonderful. The workshop picture is very well composed and attractive too. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,
Ourania
