Photographer’s Note
This shot was taken at the permanent exhibition of the Synagogue in Essen. This bicycle, an extraordinary museum object once belonged to a resistant fighter,who had fought against the Nazi regime in the 1930s. It had been frequently used to smuggle political leaflets into the factories situated in the Ruhr region.
