Photographer’s Note

This picture shows you the headframe of Essen's Zollverein coal mine, a world heritage site that is testament to the region's (former) economic prowess. The architecture around it is quite magnificent, built in the Bauhaus style of the 1920s. Thanks to its world heritage status the entire area has been and is being renovated.

ungewöhnlicher Blickwinkel, aber dennoch ein sehr schönes Bild, die diagonlalen Linien teilen das tolle Blau in schöne Felder auf..

Hello Philipp,

My eyes were attracted by this photo and the geometrical shapes in red against the uniform blue sky. The point of view is very good to evidence the beauty of these old mine tool.
