Photographer’s Note
During my visit at Dusseldorf, with also a strolls in the city, saw I this two towers together, the tower on the foreground is it "Landesmuseum" the tower on the background, the "Lambertus" church.
This picture I have cropped an the leftside annoying elements remotely, to a better composition.
Who help me; I cannot show it originally, how must this do?
I hope you like it.

Nice photo. Ive never been to Dusseldorf. The tower in the foreground has a very industrial look to it, sort of like a water tower or part of a factory of somekind. Not in the shape exactly but in the simple decorations to the body and lack of intricate details. The twoer in the back is more like I would expect in a city center setting. The composition once again is spot on. No elements that distract from the composition.

Hi John
Great view of the tower.
Eventhough the trees do distracted the view but it still provide the greens to the picture. Thus, this balanced the color.

Hi John, A very nice and crispy clear image. A very nice capture of the guy riding the bike on the right hand side. The green tree on the right hand side made an excellent contrast to the rest of the warm colors in the picture. I really like this sharp, clear, picture.
You may go post a WS for your own picture to show your original version. Then, make your notes to reference about it.

Hi John,
Two towers and two trees -- I like this parallel and find an interesting rhythm in it. Very well constructed composition with great idea, perfect colours and nice overall clarity.
Thanks,
Marek

hi john, surprisingly those trees have been left where they are, it is strange that they look a bit "odd" and out of place here, where the stons and man-made things dominated the surroundings;
very interesting composition;

Hi John
A superb pov, with excellent perspective & sharpness. Good color & lighting. I like the 3 contrasting vertical elements, of tree, tower, & church-steeple. Well done!

Dag, John.
Net alsof de kerktoren scheef is ? Of is het optisch bedrog ? Anders zeker een scherpe goede foto.
groeten,
Luc.

Hello John,
Today I will critique two pictures. Your present and past at TE. I will choose the second that is a old past work in your Portfolio, that is in my art point of photo view, your point and reference to others, that could not be mine, but are a must for me in my way. So allways my modesty to your great lessons in photo. This one is great with excelent perspective, dimensional frame and result.
Thanks very much for sharing excelent work and also for sharing ideas and critique.

Bonsoir John,
Des couleurs très douces, un sujet très bien composé, cadré. Les deux arbres en boule enjolivent de leur tache verte cet agréable tableau. Les personnages donnent la dimension des tours.
C'est très bon John !.

A pleasant view from Düsseldorf, John. Good shooting angle to be able to show the two adjacent towers in this way. I like the lush greenery of the trees, and the inclusion of the pedestrians and the guy on the bicycle. The sign on the tower says "Schifffahrtsmuseum", so obviously they are focusing on topics related to navigating ships and boats.

Hi John. Normally having the subject on-center bugs me but here I really like it. I read your note about showing it originally before cropping. Thanks I want to see your process. All you would do is do a ‘Save As’ in your image editing software before cropping, so you'd have two copies of the shot. The final shot for posting and the one for workshop showing the un-cropped image. Click on the Post to workshop and you know what do from there. Thanks I am curious about your process as you seem to be very good at least and I'd love to learn from you. Nice shot too John!

The central placement of the tower works well here because it really sticks out. there is some distortion there that adds to the feeling of a wide view and the exaggerated feel of the most central object. It's a nice capture also of the surroundings because of this. So we see how the tower is placed in its environment.

Hi, John,
To my eye, this composition has a surprising and pleasing three part harmony. Yes, there are the two towers. These are interesting visually both intrinsically and also in contrast with one another. What really makes the photo special, though, is the inclusion of the third element, the trees. (And maybe having two trees helps, although I think the photo would be as effective if there were only one.)
Why are the trees so important?
(1) A triangular composition pattern is formed with excellent balance among the three components in scale and visual interest.
(2) The chromatic range is much richer with the trees than without.
(3) The trees add a strong contrast in texture relative to the towers.
Although you don't mention this in your notes, I think from the way you framed the photo, you must have clearly understood the importance of the trees to your image.
In addition, the photo demonstrates your other strong capabilities: crisp, clear image with well rendered tones; clean lines with an uncluttered look.
Warm regards,
- William
