Photographer’s Note

I'm spending my long weekend in Germany in Düsseldorf.

The colourful builidng is named COLORIUM, built in 2001, 62 m heigh with 18 floors and here are some of the facts about it:
-Located on the city's waterfront, where a regeneration program has been going on for some years.
-The site is on a peninsula in the harbor and is extremely constricted. For this reason the building takes the form of a dramatic tower, though its height was reduced to 62m as a result of planning restrictions.
-Earlier versions of the scheme mixed conventional office space with flexible live/work "office lofts" and included a restaurant and spectacular penthouse.
-As built, the scheme is more conventional, with 400 m² of offices per floor and the "diving board" restaurant, projecting over the water, deleted from the plans.
-Using advanced glass technology (and 17 distinct types of glass), Alsop & Störmer has given the building an elusive and highly pictorial presence in the city.
-The plant installation at roof level is transformed by lighting into a "light box".

Czesc Gosia! Interesujaca nowoczesna architektura. To co nowoczesne w architekturze, okazuje sie, tez moze byc gustowne, ze stylem i z klasa. Klaniam sie!

Hi Gosia,

impressing composition with modern buildings at the side of older ones, with colored houses, mixing with glass and stones ones. You've managed to take this picture well framed and also with good contrast.

Hej Gosia,
Ta architektura w Dusseldorfie wygląda rzeczywiście nowoczesnie i imponująco.
Ale cieszę się że w Dublinie wszystko jest bardziej na ludzka miarę - najwyższy budynek ma 14 pięter a projekty superwieżowców odwołano ze względu na kryzys. :)

Ło rety, rzeczywiście kolorowy! Świetna ostrość, dzieki czemu widzimy detale. Zabawnie pomalowane. Dla mnie może zbyt to krzykliwe, ale robi wrażenie. Fajne te ludziki po prawej stronie u góry. bardzo dobry kadr. Pozdrawiam

Czesc,
kolejny pokaz powojennej architektury a Duesseldorfu. Podejrzewam, ze miasto troche ucierpialo od alianckich nalotow. Fajne te klocki lego, kazdy inny. Dobry kadr i ostrosc.

Witaj,
o....Gocha sie przemieszcza dzis, bo nie ma zdjatka;) Jak bedziesz w Dublinie, to zobaczysz calkiem podobne miejsce do tego ze zdjecia. Zwie sie Docklands. Jest to tuz przy porcie. Bardzo ciekawe rzeczyska tam chlopy buduja. Jak jest ladna pogoda (podkreslam JAK) to calkiem ladnie to wyglada.

Duesseldorf naprawde zaczyna mnie intrygowac.
Bardzo ciekawa architektura. Kazdy budynek w innym stylu i kolorze. Plun te dwie postacie na dachu: najwyrazniej ludzie maja tam poczucie humoru -to Niemcy jakich nie znalem.
