On this eight and for the time being the last industrial shot a detail of the Hohenzollern railroad bridge over the Rhine in Köln (Cologne) in Germany, one of the busiest railroad bridges of the world is displayed. It’s a double bridge with leads 6 railroad tracks and a foot/cycle path across the Rhine. I like this shot because of the combination of the old steel construction of the bridge itself and the more recent railroad signalling equipment.
In the following postings I will linger a bit longer in Köln, were ‘kölsch’ stands for the inhabitants of this fine city, their city-speak and the delightful local beer.
Fortsetzung Folgt is a song from the kölsche band BAP
PS-E2 tech: cropped, levels & contrast adjusted, desaturated, sharpened, frame added and saved for the web.
After the comments of Risto & Yithzak I added the colour version for comparison in a WS.

Ahh - some of my favourite subjects: old steel bridges and railway signs and signals. And you combined tem into a nice busy but structured image with a rich tonal range here. A "full-bodied" shot. I wouldn't mind a few more industrials some day.

Hi Bert, nice tight crop, I like steel bridges very, very much. With all the rivets, and all the lights, and all the greytones, this is a wonderful composition. Excellent choice to go B&W.

This is another excellent one for your series, Bert. A very intriguing combination of the different structures, shapes and lines you describe very well in your note. It looks quite chaotic at first sight, but the longer I look at it the more of an inherent structure and order I discover. Fine cropping job, beautiful b&w presentation, and very good detail once again. Very good work.
And what a perfect choice to use the BAP song title for a posting from Cologne :-) By the way, if you change 'Koln' to 'Cologne' in your location info, a city plot point should show up in Nordrhein-Westfalen on your Germany map once it has been refreshed. When I provided the Germany map to Adam for integration on TE, I used English spelling for the cities (i.e. "Cologne", "Munich").

A very nice and busy industrial shot, Bert. So many interesting elements. I like the use of b/w though I'm sure that a cplpr version would show some more interesting items, like the 210, 220 signs. Frame works well, too.

Very crisp and nicely captured. I really loved all the lines of the structure here. I tried to capture similar views on my bridge but my point of view and the lighting wasn't working for me. But you got a great shot here. And I also like the contrast between the bridge and then the signals. The signals look like slick, organic, forms sticking out from the bridge. Like parasites of some kind. Great choice in black and white. Very nicely spotted, again, and photographed.

Bert, this is a very hectic graphic like work. I like all the different shapes here. Good use of B&W (i prefer it over the color version) although i think it's a bit too gray IMO. Well done

Wow! Excellent catch. This one is really not obvious to frame. A lot of details and lines you combined very well. The two main verticals and the horizontal footbridge are well positioned. The rest of diagonals bring dynamic and the whole makes a complex and almost "cahotic" shapes. Though, it's a coherent structure. Very well catched, this one was not easy. Good choice of B&W. I think it could support a bit more contrast, just my personal liking. Very good work Bert, an outstanding serie.

Wat een wir-war en wat een lijnenspel, zeg !
Mooi in zwart-wit, die ik mooier vind, in dit geval, dan de coloured.
Prachtige industrial, Bert !

Almost confusing to understand that all the lines and details included in the well chosen BW pix is part of a railway bridge. Well seen details, god job, an thank's for an interesting series
