Photographer's Note

This is my first photo taken in Cologne with my new camera.
Cologne Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church in Cologne, Germany. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Cologne. It is dedicated to Saint Peter and the Blessed Virgin Mary. The cathedral is a World Heritage Site, one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany, and Cologne's most famous landmark, described by UNESCO as an "exceptional work of human creative genius".Construction of Cologne Cathedral began in 1248 and took, with interruptions, until 1880 to complete. It is 144.5 metres (474 ft) long, 86.5 m (284 ft) wide and its towers are approximately 157 m (515 ft) tall.The cathedral is one of the world's largest churches and the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe. For four years, 1880–84, it was the tallest structure in the world, until the completion of the Washington Monument. It has the second-tallest church spires, only surpassed by the single spire of Ulm Minster, completed 10 years later in 1890. Because of its enormous twin spires, it also presents the largest façade of any church in the world.

What a perfection of light balance and details! It's always difficult to take pics like that in the churches interiors,you work very very well in quality and to create a very veyr nice pespective,a magnificent example of architechture,i like it! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

gratulacje nowej kamery oraz zycze Ci zadowolenia z niej i oczekujemy wiecej Twoich zdjec. W kosciolach ciezko jest robic zdjecia, poniwaz swiatlo, warunki itd., ale Tobie udalo sie to calkiem dobrze, moze dla mnie jest troszeczke za ciemne ( nie jestem specjalista), ale wspanialy jest punkt widzenia, perspektywa oraz wspaniale pokazalej architekture tego wnetrza. Ogolem bardzo mi sie podoba.

very nice architectural shot inside the Cologne Cathedral with a nice low POV...like the arches on the roof with nice texture of the beside tall walls...
good DOF controlled with nice light management...good color tone & sharpness also...

Ciao Krzysztof,
come ho detto altre volte è difficile fotografare senza flash dentro le chiese.
In questo caso poi volendo fotografare le volte a crociera in alto era inutile usare il flash.
Sei riuscito molto bene a bilanciare ombre e luci e il risultato è eccellente.

Hi Krzysztof,
The arc's are most impressive, and the high POV with cieling view is overwhelming.
The WS attached was intended to show the beauty of the architecture's, by lowering backlight and raising illumination.
Reminded me of York Cathedral.

Hello Krzysztof,

These Cologne Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church in Cologne.
Completely rebuilt after WAR II, nevertheless very well restored.
Sharpness and clarity are pleasant for look at.
Perfect taken with excellent colors and nice perspective and depth.

C'est une très belle photo de cette catédrale légendaire. Ces vieilles églises sont difficiles à photographier, mais vous avez très bien su gérer lumière présente pour en tirer le meilleur parti.

I have been in this famous and outstanding cathedral, long ago...
it's so high that I guess it was not easy to photograph! also the light management was difficult but for shot without tripod I think that the result is good. I've seen the WS but I think it's too bright. Maybe it could be possible to brighten a bit the shadows without brightening the rest.
The sharpness is very good and your new camera served you well.

Naprawdê piêkna i przejmuj±ca w wyrazie koloñska katedra. Ponure tu ¶wiat³o tworzy mistyczny wrêcz nastrój. Mo¿e jedynie by³oby lepiej jakby w dole zdjêcia nie by³o turystów, na wiernych oni nie wygl±daj±. Naprawdê genialna kompozycja i genialnym musia³ byæ te¿ architekt.

Very impressive interior shot that suits the verticl format, superb pov pointing upwards revealing its architectural beauty. The repeat columns constantly recede into the far end extending the depth in wonderful ambient with a sense of space. Nicely colored, exposed and good contrast and human presence adds.
