Hello !

Here is a postcard from Cologne where I spent the week-end.

At the background, you see its impressive gothic Cathedral
and, to the right, Saint-Martin Church.

Both architectures are very impressive but I also appreciated the colourful arhitecture of the buildings along the Rhine river.

On Sunday afternoon, hundreds people were relaxing there on the grass and at terraces, enjoying a sweet weather.

Hello Marianne!
I really like the picture!
Although I think (it means, in my humble opinion), you could have cut off a bit more of the sky and insert something else in the lower part of the picture (Weren't there any other interesting elements there? Just a hint!), the overall visual results truly pleases me!
The moment of capture with all those people embarking in a boat (???) and strolling around, the details of the architecture of all those buildings and even the bluest sky above, everything is very, very nice! Sharpness is very good! Exposure is at the best level! Depth of field is greaty and colors are so natural!

Hello marianne,
voila ou tu te cachais,un bel endroit que cette grande ville,un pov vertical comme j'aime,on s'imagine que tu te trouves dans un de ces grands paquebots au vu du pov.
une cathédrale qui resort bien du paysage et qui nous montre ce super ciel bleu avec ces tours.

Bonjour Marianne,

désolé mais , pour moi , la passerelle n'apporte pas grand-chose a l'image , j'aurais cadré un peu plus haut donnant ainsi plus d'importance au ciel et a ses magnifiques nuages .
C'est juste une suggestion toute personnelle .

un format vertical magnifique qui fait monter encore plus la cathédrale au dessus des maisons, un POV en légére plongée je me demande de quel endroit, des couleurs superbes le beau temps était de la partie

what a wonderful view of cologne´s left side of the rhine! :-) great vertical
composition with the view along the row of the colorful houses of the Altstadt with
the tide scale, Groß St. Martin, the magnificent cathedral and a beautiful blue

As-u fait la promenade en bateau? cela vaut la peine.

Hello Marianne! Oh yes, being outside, somewhere near the water, this is a nice way spending your Sunday summer afternoons, and I can see you were by far not the only one. People everywhere when the sun comes out but it is fun to be one of them sometimes ... and have an icecream. I like the idea of including this boat connecting thing in the lower part, it makes an attractive foreground, showing the Sunday fun with a little cruise. What a nice postcard!!! me gustan la geometría y el grafismo que nos ofrecen las líneas y la perspectiva desde este buen punto de vista.

Hi my dear Marianne,

so close and yet so far.... Köln is a great city, closer to you than it is to me, what a strange thought! But I've been there and loved it. Sometimes, especially at carnival, they get really crazy... ;-))

Nice daily life shot - you were lucky with the clouds and the weather. Did you get the Dom in full on another picture? That is one incredible structure, isn't it?

It's difficult to imagine where you took this as you have an excellent POV looking down on the proceedings. I like the angle made by the gangplank with the quayside. The cathedral and the tiny (by comparison) church make interesting focal points.

belle photo de cet endroit d' ou l' on voit bien la Cathédrale de cologne, les jolies maisons de Cologne, les quais et la passerelle de Cologne et sutout cette fameuse eau de Cologne.ha ha

Ces couleurs sont celles de l'été et le paysage en devient tout joyeux comme un jour de vacances. J'aime la rigueur de la composition et l'animation de la foule qui prend le temps de se reposer.

Le premier commentaire qui m'est venu a l'esprit en voyant ta photo est a propos de la purete de l'air... :-P) Il y a une telle limpidite des couleurs, une telle clarte dans ton image que cette photo semble avoir ete realisee avant l'invention de la pollution... LOLL!

J'aime bien le large espace que tu as attribue au ciel, faisant paraitre Cologne plus champetre qu'elle ne l'est vraiment.

In my limited knowledge, the archetypal postcard of Cologne would be the view of the cathedral along the bridge. I haven't seen this view before, with the famous cathedral & the church vying for attention against a fine blue sky with specs of clouds. Quite a lot of people around
