Photographer’s Note

In this picture you can see Cologne's most famous site, its Cathedral, and one of the several bridges spanning the Rhine (in this case the Severin bridge...the first new bridge built in Cologne after WW2 in 1959). The bolts that can be seen in the foreground are part of a swingbridge that's at the entrance of a small harbor.

You've got a great idea to use the bridge to frame the scene, it's very well seen.
You obtain a very graphical result, and your choice to convert this view in B&W is interesting to strengthen the lines and to create a strong atmosphere.

Good morning Philipp

A very nice idea to frame it within the frame of the bolted part of the bridge. The b/w has been well pp'ed giving a smooth texture and the details are sharp, allowing a splendid view of the bg cathedral

you used the structure of the bridge as frame and the final result is quite interesting, with a good deep formed by the modern bridge and cathedral in the bottom.
I also praise for the nice b&w.

Hi Philipp,
A good idea to use the bridge in teh foreground as a frame for the rest of the scene. Great differnet mix of lines throughout, and I think black and white was a good choice.
