Photographer’s Note

I took this photo yesterday after work from the banks of the Rhein in Bonn center.
The row of trees caught my eye as they contrast with the city lights.
In my workshop you will find a similar photo taken from a slightly different angle.

Hi Lili,
Maybe not as spectacular as your last Koeln images, but still a good night shot, you definitely appear on TE as a night owl ;-) The perspective effect is good with all lines leading to the building in the left corner, a church as it seems ?

Hi Liliana,
The mood is touching and peaceful and it is much effective graphically. The light is wonderful.
The WS is good also. It shows the other bank with more detail, but it lacks the charm and graphical strength of this one.

Hometown of Betoven. I've been in Bonn twice in my life, and I found it very peaceful and lovely city.
You proved that by your photo, which looks very calm and peaceful.
Well composed with trees, river, light and dusk..

Hello Lili,
Very nice night mood on the edge of the Rhein. The lights and overall transparency of the image are fantastic.
Just one thing is that you place the horizon just at 50% of the height.
I think you should apply the 1/3 - 2/3 rule and maybe it would have been better to have only 1/3rd for the sky and 2/3rd for the ground...
Added to this, you could have had the edge of the road starting in the lower right corner of the picture.
It is only, of course, my personal opinion :o)

Excellent night shot, I think one of your best, captured during the blue hour, the trees in the fg give a nice perspective and the reflection of lights on the river looks very good. Nice to see this everyday view after work. Well done. TFS.

Lili, very nice shot, the thumbnail picture does not really give a clue as to how much detail is in this shot or how nice and subtle the colors are. With that one street lamp so close I think it great that it did not get too over exposed, nice capture.

Interesting this series from Bonn Liliana in the evening setting. Good use in this one by the silhouetted trees and by shooting still within the 'blue hour'. Good use of the river bank compowise

I like night picture and this one make not exception. very nice perspective created by the good point of view with street and tree lines. Perfect sharpness and I like the foggy aspect of the person on the street due to long exposure time.

This one is probably less colored than some of your previous night views, but the reflections on the Rhine are excellent and I like the diagonal made by the trees along the bank (although the trees themselves are a bit uggly with this severe cutting). A nice place sky and a very good sharpness.

Lili, you're definitively a night and blue hour specialist. Any place that you take your camera for this special part of the day are fantastic. The POV of this here is quite surprising and interesting. I like the looking above the trees and having that brige as a backdrop.

the way lights hit the river, its reflections are marvellous. also after seeing the rhine, I see the color of the sky is kinda matching with the river's. I could not decide if this one is better or the WS

This is a very good night shot. The lighting is very good with a nice blue hour sky and the artificial city lighting. Your composition and POV are great using the river to lead the eye through the photo. The repeating patten formed by the trees adds much interest to the photo.

The diagonal line of the roadway and the repetition of the trees and lights add depth to the scene. My trip to Bonn a number of years ago took me to many of the daytime tourist sights and I am happy to see this view along the river at night. The sky colors are beautiful too. A tripod, a gradient?

I like the soft, attractive colors at sunset. Your POV and composition here is much better if compare with your another shot in workshop.. Here is very good angle to show the line of unusual shaped trees along the bank of Rhein river. Well done, Bravo!
