Photographer's Note

This granite-sculpture (7 tons) was made in memory to the roman officer Cassius, who was executed by sword in the roman military camp Bonna (today: Bonn) in the year 303 because of his christian faith. In the background you can see the walls of the bonn cathedral "St. Cassius and Florentius" (he had the same fate and an own sculpture a few meters next to this head).
