Photographer’s Note
I found this work of art in the church St. Remigius in the Old Town of Bonn. The construction of this outstanding church already began in 1275 and it was completet not until 1317. Here Beethoven's parents wedded and here the 10 years old genius accompanied the morning service with the organ.
This form of artwork, the Pietà - Mary, the mother of Jesus holding the dead body of her son - first was developed about the year 1300 in Germany and it reached Italy about 1400. When Christ and the Virgin are surrounded by other figures from the New Testament, the subject is called a Lamentation.
The most famous pietà - in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome - was sculptured by Michelangelo.

Interesting sculpture. Just proper for Good Friday. Suitable note, as well.
What about fasting? :)
Regards my dear friend.

Hallo Frank,
You have found a really beautiful work, which fits very well to the day. Thanks for the interesting note and the detail about the importance of the church in Beethoven's life. I got curious and searched the web to read more and found some articles.
Greetings from now warming up Espoo ( +8 °C today).

Hello Frank,
A fine capture of Mother and Child. A worthy celebration of the Easter season. The lighting is perfect. The details are well rendered with good colours and sharpness. Greetings from a damp and dull Charente-Maritime.

Hallo Frank,
