Photographer’s Note

This picture shows Bonn's old city hall from a perhaps more unusual angle. The building was constructed between 1737 and 1738 but wasn't entirely finished until 1780. Heavily damaged during WW2 it was rebuilt in 1950. Since Bonn was the capital of the Federal Republic between 1949 and 1990, it has seen its fair share of heads of state (De Gaulle, Kennedy, Gorbachev).
