Photographer's Note

Glas, Licht, Transparenz war der Titel einer Ausstellung in der Kunsthalle Dominikanerkirche. Hier sieht man einen Spiegel auf dem Boden liegen, es erzeugt ein eigenartiges Gefühl, sich vorzubeugen und den Raum unter sich zu sehen.
Diese zum ehemaligen Dominikaner Kloster gehörende Kirche ist schon sehr lange keine Kirche mehr. Im Laufe der Zeit war sie Kaserne, Magazin und Hospita, vielleicht noch einiges mehr. Seit 1966 wird sie von der Stadt Osnabrück für Konzerte und Ausstellungen genutzt, seit ungefähr 20 Jahren heißt das Gebäude Kunsthalle Dominikanerkirche.

This former church is used as hall for art exhibitions, on the photo is shown a part of the exhibition "Glas-Licht-Transparenz", what you can see is a mirror on the floor, giving a dizzy feeling if you bend and see a kind of abyss before your eyes.

...as I could realize after posting it: the colors match very good with the colors TE provides as background....

The reflection of the windows seen in the mirror is very effective. I can why you might feel dizzy looking at this when you are actually in the hall. The pov is excellent as is the composition with the children positioned at the far end of the mirror. They break up the emptiness of the hall and at the same time give a reference for us to get a sense of the size of the hall.

Hello Elvira,
This is a very interesting work of art which probably can give the onlooker a marvellous experience. The tall gothic style windowc and distinct vertical accent of the interior would increase the experience, I would guess. There is a good symmetry to your composition and the two children are necessary and beautiful complements.

Good Morning Elvira,

Usually, we see reflections in water and compare it to a mirror; here, we really have the mirror! The efect really is unbelievable. I found myself feeling quite disturbed, as the mirror felt like a huge hole in the floor, over which I had to traverse!
I'm so glad that you included the figures for it explains the whole shot, its position and its scale.

Hello Elvira,

We see two children play beside the reflections, alone in these big church.
Lovely reflection and excellent sharpness and clarity.
