Photographer’s Note
This photo not so much for its qualities and the composition.
Lately have John Cherrington john_c posted photos from New Braunswieg and we got recipes for scallops from Jean Michel Daoudal jmdaoudal so here’s my contribution:
I’m my part of Denmark (Fyn) there’s a tradition for a special cake called “Brunsviger” – Named after the German city Braunschweig. The “Joke” about this photo that’s is actually taken in that place – we where on the way to a skiing holiday in Austria (a trip of 1300 km) and the cake was supplies, for the trip as one of the family got her birthday that day.
We can buy them most every day at the bakery and when a child (or person) celebrates birthday there’s a tradition to form it as a man/woman and with an addition of candy and a sugar-writing.
Please feel free to test the recipe.

Hi Jeppe,
I carefully read this cake recipe and find it terrific by the incorporation of yeast ("marmite" for Saxon readers), this probably makes a special taste to this cake. I like also the chemical justification of this ingredient for digestion of a great quantity of sugar, here also on the photo addition of sweets up to the "glacage" :-)).
In any case Mariane and friends won't be hungry after ingestion of such a cake and this could last for a week :-)).
Thanks for this note and photo from your FZ1, this is a nice piece of life in Germany and a beautiful drawing I will show this morning to our gran daughter.
Friendly
Jean Michel
