Photographer’s Note
My favorite mode of transportation in Germany is the train. With a rail pass you can travel inexpensively for multiple days, or with a "Schönes Wochenende" ("Happy Weekend") ticket you can travel with friends for a very good price on a weekend. The trains are generally comfortable and clean (except some of the regional trains on certain days), and while you travel you can relax, eat, walk around, watch the landscape roll by, etc.
I took this while waiting for a connection at a train station. I discovered that if you set your camera on the ground and just wait, you will get many interesting views of legs and feet. In the background is a regional train waiting to depart. (You can tell because the regional trains are red and the faster trains are white.)
If you look closely at the windows, you can see most of the windows are showing you a reflection of the people who were waiting on the platform near me. But one window (on the left of the set of three windows) shows a little bit of reflection but also a little bit of the person sitting inside. I guess I found that interesting because I'm slightly obsessed with photos of reflections. :)

Hi Erin, nice to see you enjoying yourself traveling around Germany by train. This is a creative shot that came out really cool, good timing to have the slightly mysterious-looking black feet walk in front of the red train whose design elements provide an interesting background pattern. Well done.

Hello Erin,
nice conceptal picture. Someone walking with a train in the background...it's just nice! The color is nice and flashy as well with the black legs/feet providing a perfect contrast. The legs even provide nice graphic diagonal lines! You even managed to perfectly frame it with the train's door! Really great Erin!
Have a nice day,
Marc

Hi Erin,
strange POV. It took me a moment to recognize. Well done. The reflections on the windows are interesting.
It is strange. And good.

Smart POV and way to enhance your way of travel
preferences, Erin...
:)
walk, ride the train, walk again to your next stop...
The floor level POV here makes the deal, and you patience to wait till this gentleman passed was well worth the wait!
Well done!

Hi Erin,
Interesting POV.
I remember the red and, white trains. I never got the chance to take the white ones though. I really did enjoy Die Bahn when I visited Deutschland.
Did you put your camera on a timer to get that shot from the ground? I think I will try this. I live in nyc, so it should be very interesting. Your black legs against the red train does make a nice contrast. Also, the reflection adds an interesting touch.

I put this straight in my favourites Erin - not because i think it's the perfect image to put amongst other perfect images but because you have achieved something very different with this shot and i love its timing and inventiveness - I find that I want to crop that top left corner of sky out and accentuate the letterbox framing of the image and the full impact of the strength of the red and light blue against the red and black - very powerful colour combinations - really fantastic but imperfect work and deserving of every accolade for making such a bold leap with you framing and perspective.
Keep smiling! Best wishes Kev

Hi Erin
Nice to see you back!
That's a very good idea and capture! You perfectly managed to get the train electronic sign and clear window's reflection between these legs!!!
How many tries did you need to get that shot?
Hope you don't miss Germany too much
Cheers
Tony
