Photographer’s Note

Not many buildings of the old town of Frankfurt am Main survived the World War II. The remained (and rebuilt) ones give an interesting contrast to the modern steel and glass buildings.
The reflected Neo-Classical house was built in 1905, the skyscraper in the background is the headquarter of the European Central Bank.
Unfortunately the sky is pale but the polarizer would have eliminated the reflection.

Schöner Kontrast eines der Hochhäuser der Skyline mit den Häusern, die um die Jahrhundertweden gebaut wurden. Ein gut gelungenes Spiegelbild

Hallo Laszlo,
man könnte hier auch sagen, dass sich die Vergangenheit in der Gegenwart spiegelt. Schön wie die verschiedenen Epochen hier miteinander verknüpft werden. Die Spiegelungen sind sehr gut zu erkennen und das vertikale Format mit dem Hochhaus im Hintergrund gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut. Da stört mich auch der blasse Himmel nicht sonderlich.

Hut ab! ... zu diesem Foto! Ein wirklich faszinierendes Fotoobjekt - perfekt eingefangen. Der Bildaufbau ist einfach großartig.
Ein blauer Himmel würde meiner Meinung nach diese Bild nicht besser machen - die weiße Umgebung passt gut zu dieser Glas/Stahl-Architektur. So genau habe ich mir schon lange kein Foto mehr angesehen ...

belle photo de ces batiments rassemblé qui avec la partie supérieure donne ces reflets superbes.

nice presentation of this combination of the new and the old architectural styles of Frankfurt city.I like the reflections of the opposite building as the perspective of the modern one on the background.Well done.

Impressive as sharp reflexes achieved. It also has a great contrast with the modern building. Unique composition and excellent light, less in the sky...

stupendo effetto illusorio, dove il palazzo sembra messo dentro una gabbia di vetro per proteggerlo dalle intemperie. Eccellente fotografia resa piacevole dalla fusione di due stili architettonici completamente diversi tra loro, creando un interessante contrasto. Ottimo colpo d'occhio meravigliosamente realizzato. Bravo!

Like you say it the lighting is perhaps not the best, but it could certainly be the lighting conditions that made it possible to take this wonderful picture of old and new styles. Very well seen and presented. TFS and have nice day!

Hi Laszlo, Interesting composition - the most attractive building we see here only reflected. In fact, In Germany they like to mix the new and old - among old buildings there is modern Kaufhof. Something I do not like. But here it looks fine.
