Photographer’s Note

On the way back from Rothenburg, we made a little stop in the beautiful old city of Limburg with its well know old church, about 800 years old, and well seen from the highway...

Light was really bad, so I have pushed a little the colors and contrasts on the picture, hope you like it.

In the WS, a general view, as there is a scaled general view from the whole building in the cathedral itself.

schöne Kirche, ist ja auch Sonntag heute! Schöne Komposition mit dem Baum daneben, und der blaue Himmel ist auch eine Art von Blue Hour :)

Nice shot of this grand Cathedral. Your managed nice colors and detail under these less than perfect lighting conditions, good work! The great sky provides a nice backdrop for the shot. The angle of the shot is good showing us some depth, maybe a few more steps to the right would have given us even better depth.

Salut Didier,
Malgré la lumière que tu dis mauvaise, tu nous proposes une belle image toute en douceur et nuances. Je suis, par contre, un peu étonné par le mur vertical à droite alors qu'il est oblique à gauche. La distorsion est-elle l'œuvre d'une correction de perspective?

Je ne sais pas si la lumière était mauvaise mais les couleurs sont superbes (donc bravo pour le posttraitement) et cette cathédrale très originale. Belle papagolfade dominicale!

Une orthoscopie parfaite pour cette architecture dont la couleur brique est en parfait accord avec le ciel.Les personnages donnent l'échelle.

Le fait que la lumière soit mauvaise nous a laissé un peu de temps pour profiter après la visite (voir ws), alors de quoi te plains-tu?? ;-))
Tu as réussi une bien belle photo vu les conditions du moment, ce qui n'est pas mon cas.

Bonsoir Didier,

Le 14 mm met tout dans l'image, c'est sûr, mais l'église est très "pointue" comme cela... Pour l'architecture pure, le stitch est finalement pas la plus mauvaise solution. Possédant le même objectif, je le trouve difficile à utiliser. Vu la courbure de la lentille frontale, il provoque des aberrations dès qu'il y a une quelconque lumière qui le frappe de face... Pour les sujets de nuit, avec toutes les lumières de rue, je ne suis pas prêt à laisser tomber mon 20 mm finalement!
tes personnages sont bien répartis sur cette place.

It is very unusual and ornate architecture. The people were necessary for the scale and we can see it is huge. It was a good idea to include the model in the WS so we have a good understanding of the back of the church too. Well done

Impressive architecture and the way you catch it it seems that there is only the front of the church! Funny.
Did you deed some perspective PP on it? The towers seem to me a bit out porportion.
