Photographer’s Note

When strolling in the city center I saw these multicolored dressed shop window dolls. Young, modern, dynamically, cool. Something fascinated me. I stopped. Because I discover the reason. They had all very individual faces. And they looked in such a way, as the young people looked nowadays, if them something is contrary (see the girl in the foreground and the boy right in the picture). They stand there, as if they were photographed. And their faces seem to express: are you now finally finished with the photo?

A very good capture of these mannequins with their mix of interesting expressions. All about targeting your audience I guess ;-) Very good colours and clarity. I must examine the shop windows more closely in future! Thanks for sharing.

es gibt durch die unterschiedlichen Gesichter einen sehr realen Eindruck, großer Unterschied zu sonstigen Schaufensterpuppen. Das Mädel vorn wirkt sehr uninteressiert, gelangweilt, sehr gut den Ausdruck eingefangen. Die sanfte Hintergrundspiegelung lässt das Bild im Zwielicht des Realen/Unrealen, tolle Aufnahme.

I find this picture very well, certainly through the reflections in the window of the trees and the buildings between the mannequins.

Herrlich - oder fürchterlich - diese Kunstgesichter, die wirklich alle den gleichen "ungehaltenen" Gesichtsausdruck haben! Das muss man erst einmal sehen - und dann noch die Kamera dabei haben! Ein nicht alltägliches Foto in tollen Farben. Wie sagt man hier? Great!

Excellent one, Wolfgang. There are many mannequin shots out there, but in this one, they really seem to have taken on real personalities. They actually seem to be gazing on the world that we see in the reflection of the window, wishing they could go out there. The quality of the light and colors is quite nice too. Best, -Hugh

Funny, I first wanted to make a comment that it's just a picture of a shop window. What the idea was behind that. And the longer I was looking at your posting, the more I saw what I later on read in your note. In a sense, it is sad as well.
These are kids, this is how they are portrayed by commerce. As little adults. Since little adults have money and don't need parents for their clothing choices. It's a pity.
Adult, cold and individual. That's almost everything you don't want a kid to be. Well seen!!

ich bisher noch nicht, wenigstens bewegen sie sich nicht wie echte menschen, schauen nur genauso böse drein, besonders die
kleine im vordergrund, oh mann, welche laus ist der wohl über die leber gelaufen? die laten einheitspuppen gefielen mit doch

Excellente qualité d'image pour un photo prise à travers une vitrine. Bel effect et beau mélange de couleurs. Bonne composition et belle expression des visages, c'est surement pas parce qu'ils étaient devant la caméra.

This is excellent Wolf, I like the mannequins in general, because they kind of express something of the world around them as you say. Here the composition is very good, beautiful colors too, and the faces are a treat to look at ! Sullen, a bit arrogant, a bit bored, half-smiles, let them out ...

You pick a good point of view that allowes for som depth and dynamics in the composition!
I like the combination of reflection and reality, where the latter is dominating...

Apparently I considered that they were people, but when extending the image, I see that they are dummies, very, but very real. Great resistance, great definition, perfect frame and magnify composition. Congratulations
