Light and shadow patterns, a photo from Hessen, West

Photographer's Note

The sunlight draws geometric patterns on the walls and the floor. Light and shadow are balanced. These are ideal conditions for a photo. I find the most appropriate perspective for this scene and press the shutter.

A splendid study in light and shade, enhanced by the strong graphical lines. Good inclusion of the lady who makes a fine focal point and adds a touch of vitality to the scene.

Another very strong graphical picture, with the most exquisite composition/cropping and superb control of the highlights and shadows. The timing is also excellent, and the female figure is well positioned and caught in a pose suggesting movement into the picture. Great work.

Hello Wolfgang,
Exceptionalaly well used light, shade and indirect reflections. The unseen windows have created a very elegant pattern along the floor. I also like the appetizing nuances of grey. The woman in suitable blue is well placed. She isn't strange enough to fit into a surrealistic painting, otherwise I find a touch of De Chirico in these vaults.

We've seen you post a few of these light and shadow photo's before and you do very well with them.
having the lady with a blue shirt really makes it stand out against the whites and greys.
a perfect secondary subject.

Another well considered and managed shot Wolfgang. I like the simple composition which allows the light and architectural details to 'speak loudly'. The figure is well placed and supplies the perfect colour note and feeling for scale. Super. Warm regards rosemary

thank you for Rosemary to comment it today, I missed it during my holidays. It's the kind of picture I like the most for the moment, the intercation of human presence in a cityscape or landscape. Here, you got a stunning perspective of the arcades, well enhanced by the rythm of the shadows, and the lady is well located at the back, in a ray of light.
