Frankfurt downtown, along the Main river, taken from the air on board B-737/800 Air-Berlin flying back home from Cologne to Tel-Aviv. Altitude is not certain as the aircraft was still ascending after take-off.
Afternoon light enhanced the long-shades of the high-rise buildings around the RR station, and gave a unique texture to the cityscape with the green-lung parks.
A slightly different view on the WS attached.
Frankfurt on the map: 50.11, 8.66

un pov eccellente, molto interessante la suddivisione della città, tra la parte industriale e quella residenziale, è molto evidente da questa inquadratura.

The altitude is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details and colors of this area of Frankfurt. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

the view I admire quite often flying from Frankfurt.
Unfortunately,it´s the only perspective I´ve seen the city so far:)I´ll have to change the fact.
And concerning your composition I like the view showing us the downtown of Frankfurt with its financial district.Excellent, clear and detailed view(at least you had really clean window-something I wish to have last time flying to and from Athen:)
Have a nice evening

A really nice aerial photo. The strong diagonal lines are great and I like the inclusion of the river, the railway station and all the high rise Buildings. TFS and have a fine week!

moody tones and shadows give to this aerial view a very peculiar tint that influences the atmosphere we perceive. The composition is great and the view quite clear, we can learn a lot about the city's layout and character from this photo and people who know it will surely enjoy looking for landmarks. The complementary picture looks almost graphical and futuristic. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

A little bit of Ariel photography now. Always something sad about leaving somewhere after a holiday I think. Your pilots chosen POV (hehe) allows us to see the details of tis city with all the main arterial routes very visible, the river carving through the city dividing it in two.and the railway station with the train lines snaking across the city in different directions. Very nice.

A great view of the city from the plane, the view offers a panorama of the city in which it projects the line of the river, high skyscrapers and the oldest area with low-rise buildings.
Very good job.
Enjoy a happy day.

Une prise excellente sur la vile depuis l'avion, c'est très intéressant a voir avec le fleuve qui fait une séparation, bonne lumière et teintes particulière

A superb aerial shot of the Frankfurt train station with good sharpness and the sweeping curve of the river running through the city like an artery has been well captured in this birds eye view. Excellent shadow detail in the clouded parts. Tfs!

it is always so challenging to take a good photo from the plane. I tried several times with miserable effects. Your photo suffers a bit as well from dirty windows but you did manage to include the most famous part of Frankfurt here with all the skyscrapers plus the river makes a lovely diagonal. That is a very original and interesting prespective on the town.
Very well done,

Hi Ike, A broad and nice view over the Frankfurt downtown. There has not many skyscrapers but they stand out from the lower platform of the constructions. Excellent of POV. Thank for sharing

You're capturing well this cityscape from airplane by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the whole image in Frankfurt downtown. It's also impressive the winding river, the raiway station and scattered high buildings in the city. And, long shade in afternoon draws out an impact in this image.

An excellent - and interesting - aerial shot of this city that is unknown to me. of course we have all heard of Frankfurt, but I have never been. Considering this was taken through a thick glass window, the definition and light are very good. It struck me whilst viewing your German images, given the small amount I know of your family history, did your trip make you emotional, thinking of the things that have happened in the past? I hope that it was not upsetting for you.
