"Tag der Offenen Tür", Day of the Open Door (don't know if it's the correct translation) of the Congresss Center „Darmstadtium“, a day when the Centrum open all doors allowing to look behind everthing, high-tec water managment, solar techniques, sound & light, electricity, ... Built in 2005-2008 the main Congress Hall has 1200 sqm with 1.475 seat places. In total the Centre has 21.000 sqm for events, seminars, exhibitions.

The name "Darmstadtium" is a Hommage on the sensational, world-wide considered discovery of the GSI Institute for Heavy Ion Research. 1994 the 110th element of the periodic system was discovers.

In the mirror you could see on the left the Old Theatre (built from 1897 to 1906), in the middle the Museum (built 1819 by Georg Moller), and right a part of the Residential Palace built in 18th century. Maybe you wonder about the wall in front of the building. The wall is a part of the old City Wall. As it is under protection, they include the wall in the building - have a look in the workshop1, workshop2
