Photographer’s Note
"Langer Ludwig" (meaning Long Ludwig, we say short "Lui") a column statue 33m high at the Luisenplatz, a square in the center of the city. Built in 1844 commemorating to Ludwig I, first Grand Duke of Hesse.
Ok - you're right if you say the trams are not beautiful, but we love them, because we have no problem with rush hours, they run after midnight when my children come back from the discotheque, ....
When you like to visit Darmstadt start at the railway station going by tram to the Luisenplatz ... - or contact me for a sightseeing tour.

Hi Achim,
Very clean city one can expect from any German city. Lucky you have an efficient public transport ... cut down traffic and pollution. I like the role of lines played part in this compo ... it leads ones focus towards the monument. Well captured and composed. Well done! tfs
Cheers,

Hello Achim,
Some very appealing geometric lines and good animation in this composition. The strips of paving stones lead the eye straight to the monument. Good light and colours.

Beautiful large square, a lot of space in order to live it.
Your POV is really good and your image well shows the life of the square, beautiful buildings and column, and also the chairs and the tables in wood placed on the square, I think they are tables of a restaurant, compliments Achim.
Ciao

Hi, Achim. You've had a good idea to include the tables in youir picture to creat depth. The square looks really huge and would have been empty without them. I think you have managed the light quite well with a good balance between low and high lights.

I like the way you used the wide angle in this to really give it a nice sense of space. The square looks absolutely huge in this shot! Nice composition too, with the man at the table balancing the frame against the column. Well done!

Hallo Achim,
it is an excellent frame that gives to us a great perspective and depth to the image, the 12mm focal offers a very ample vision to us of this square, and you have corrected very well the distortion of the verticals.
Good light and beautiful colors, in a dynamic scene.
Nice work.
Best regards,
Josep

Hallo Achim. Darmstadt.

Also dann lieber deine Stadtführung.

Herrlich klar.
Lieben Gruss, Ulf

Hej Achim,
A very nice view over this square with the statue in the middle, but a little off-centred. The passing trams are a great inclusion and add fine colours. Well done, thanks for sharing!
Regards,
Lars
