Photographer's Note

After looking for a while I remembered I had something to participate in The No Point Day (a great idea Achim had). I remembered I had a photo from a great symbol of peace in Hamburg, St Nikolai. This church is still one of the most famous and impressive monuments in the city. One of the oldest mediaeval churches in the city, it has been vastly destroyed by the flames of a big fire in 1842 and later most part of the building fell down with the attacks of the II World War. Only a part of the walls and the tower have remained but the Church hasn’t been rebuilt after that, as if to remind us of the effects of war. Today, all the space is exactly a memorial against war. There are lots of statues and memorials against war. It’s impossible not to think about peace here.
This is a statue by Edith Breckwoldt, dating from 2001 and called "Prayer for Peace", that we can find there.
