Schooner Hansa blocked by pack ice on the eastern coast of Greenland in September 1869.
This diorama can be found at the German Maritime Museum (Deutsche schifffahrtsmuseum). It was built in 1997 to 1:87 scale.
Story of German North Polar Expeditions can be found in Wikipedia.
Shot with a phone camera. Phone cameras are especially suitable for miniature photography thanks to their extremely short focal distance.

Hello Kari - I would never have guess when I first opened that that a) it wasn't a real scene and b) it was taken with a camera phone. Looking closer I can see that the icebergs appear to be made from polystyrene! What a very good diorama, the light is just superb and the atmosphere realistic. A super shot and the best part is you were inside and not out in the Arctic seas!

what a TE photo and experience that would have been!
its a well played out scene, a unique post for TE

First, I said to myself : "How can happen such icy situation in Germany !" And then, I read your note ! I'm very surprised by the quality of a mobile phone picture, light is very well rendered, and you made a nice composition.
Great job !

Lucky you that they allow photography of any kind. Some places don't, and will even ask you to delete any images taken, even without flash. Looks realistic and very good sharpness and density for a cell phone. Not my idea of a summer holiday lol! Excellent sharpness and graphism. Tfs and have a great Sunday!
