| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Ilz is the smallest of the three rivers that meet in Passau. It is only 65 km in length, during which it travels down a height difference of ~780m (source: Wikipedia). It was named "River of the Year" in 2002-2003. There are quite a few trails along the river and since the area is pretty much left intact and wild, one may spot some rare plants and animals on a walk.
This shot was taken near Passau's quarter of Hals where a dam forms a lake which is a popular destination for locals, although swimming is not allowed there.
PS: The spots on the water are real - I don't want you to think that my lens was dirty! ;o) |

Hallo Claudia,
Claudia,
Excellent shot with a fine reflection. The reflection gives the shot nice depth and symmetry. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. I will be in Passau in a couple of weeks and hope to see some of these fine scenes.
TFS,
Asa
Hi Claudia,
That is a very fine place and the picture is trying to show it but I have one piece of advice for you.
I don`t know where the East and West are in your photo but I strongly suggest to go there early morning during the "golden moments" and see the results.
The sky is not bad but the high noon light is pretty harsh and I doesn`t bring too much beauty to your photo.
The clarity is great though and the colors seem to be very truthful.
Cheers:)
