Photographer’s Note

This is the riverfront in one of my favorite German towns - Regensburg. This photo was taken from the old stone bridge looking down the Danube. We had a great meal at the Sausage Kitchen which is located just next to the bridge.
The medieval town of Regensburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has buildings spanning almost two centuries. The ancient Roman, Romanesque and Gothic buildings, including the City Hall and Cathedral survived the ravages of WWII. The city is home to medieval houses, towers, churches and abbeys.
The Stone Bridge is a masterpiece of medieval engineering that has survived 850 years. It is the oldest preserved stone bridge in Germany as was, for hundreds of years, the only way to get into Regensburg.

Hello Asa.
Nicely angled picture of this colourful row of buildings. Pity there isn't a boat on the river or some people walking in the sun, but the scene is very inviting. The shadows are beguiling. I liked your note, too, even though I am not a sausage eater (my arteries harden up just thinking about them, I'm afraid)! I wonder if we'll see a photo of the bridge next.

I'm not surprised this is your favourite place, it is really beautiful.
I love your chosen pov which uses the gentle curve of the canalside to lead the gaze past the attractive, eclectic mix of buildings. It gives a good sense of perspective and a fine composition.

Hello Asa,
a nice photo with perfect exposition, no doubt. May be with a slightly different POV (a few steps backwards) you could have achieved more attractive reflection but it is nice with this composition as well. I like especially that despite of the hard lights there are no burned spots.

I can underyand why this city is your favourite one in Germany . The architecture is very nice , and what beautiful colors ! I like the light , too , and the good diagonal . I think that this kind of picture would be yet better with a whita frame . But it is your choice .

I can understand why you like this town, this view is really very picturesque. The colors are very pleasant and the light is wonderful. But I am a little bit concerned about the big ware house on the left side, I would probably not have included it in this overall impression. But this is only minor concerns. TFS!

The reflections in the water are asset to the composition. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the houses. The intensity of the light brings out the colors of the picture. have a nice day.

The point of view on riverside Regensburg works well, resulting in fine dynamics in the composition
The red roofs & buildings offer fine colour contrast, and the blue sky with withe clouds offers a fine background...
So now I know where to go for tasty sausages in these parts..!

This riverfront with all those colourful houses is really appealing. the cromatic contrast is one of the strongest point in this photo and the other ones in my opinion are the fine sense of perspective and the warm light. The river with its reflections makes the image more interesting. A very good work.
