Photographer’s Note
On this Christmasy afternoon, looking over the gingerbread town of Passau at the confluence of the Danube (Donau), the Inn, and the Ilz, I realize that the blue faraway does exist.
This place where history fused along with the waters of the three rivers - something distinctly Byzantine in the onions of the Dom, something Roman in the ruins of on the way to the Wallfahrtskirche Mariahilf, and everything else is utterly German, including the aftertaste of Weissbier while shooting your pictures.
The shot was taken from the lookout at the foot of the Wallfahrtskirche Mariahilf, across and over what is called the Italian Town.
PS 7.0:
- contrast;
- color (blue).
Couldn't find any way to get rid of the clutter in the foreground except distorting the picture but then the towers of the Dom started falling apart.

Hi Alex,
superb photo, amazing shadows in the back of the photograph, great depth and creative angle. I feel the atmosphere.
The only drawback is that you have not included the whole church, but i guess that was quiet difficult from such a POV.
Thanks for sharing,
Eugen
