Photographer's Note

Höfats (2073m), a mountain in the Allgäu Alps which is part of the Northern Limestone Alps. It separates the Oy Valley from the Dietersbach Valley. Picture taken from a hiking trail in the Nebelhorn. This trail gives you many different perspectives of the Höfats as well as several other mountain peaks. Seen below in the valley is Käseralpe, a place you can have a drink and food. They also make their own cheese there. It was getting late. I needed to be down there before dark. From Käseralpe you may cross the mountain via Älpelsattel into the Dietersbach Valley. By the way one the most characteristic features of the Allgäu Alps is their grassy slopes.
