The fascination of mobile communication is ubiquitous. Most tap around on the keys. Hardly anyone speaks into the phone. Is this all just a modern pastime? I dont know.
This photo was taken on Sunday afternoon.

A wonderful capture from daily life. People seem to carry their mobile phones round with them like tokens, that they can't bear to be parted from. Just don't understand it myself, how on earth did they occupy themselves before?

As an "old-timer" I am absolutely fascinated (and petrified) by this sight. Increasingly, young people, however, will know no other life... and already regard it as the norm. Recently, sitting on a shuttle bus riding from the terminal to the car renal car agency in Los Angeles, I used my iPhone to capture a 180° panorama of the scene around me. Almost 90% of the riders on the crowded shuttle bus were similarly engaged on their smart phones. Among them, one group of high school students were staring at their screen devices, as was the teacher/coach (?) accompanying them. I know that with my own university students, I witnessed the getting up and leaving the class, ostensibly to visit the toilet. One student explained to me, their phones were on vibration mode, and those walking out had just received "an urgent" message.
Thanks for sharing the remarkable and terrifying photo. I wish I had taken the photo.
I added it, however, to a group theme I created, "Mobile Phones."

Oh, this says so much!
A generation is now controlled by iPhones!
I wonder if the ability to speak, the most immediate method of communication, will become the least used!
I must admit, where I used to get lots of phone calls from my children, now it's emails or text messages! There is, of course, the point that such messages are cheaper than phone calls!
This is a great daily life scene, very well composed and relaying such a lot of information about modern society.
Have a great day,

Gran bel colpo, sempre pronto allo scatto.

Good evening Wolfgang,
True, the young generation and the younger to come, maybe not capable to write with a pencil anymore. Cell-phones and lap-tops all have keybords.
Nice taken the moment, a common scene nowadays ealmost everywhere.
Reflection of town houses on the front window, is a fine bonus to the whole.

It is an everyday view. But I think this time it goes to extreme as just everyone is very focused on the phone like hypnotised. And you have framed this well too with red and blue shirts on opposite sides.

This photo is very typical of city life today almost anywhere in the world. It's amusing in a way, but rather more shocking or just puzzling. I am afraid I will never be able to understand what makes it so important and necessary to fiddle about with the phones all the time, whether having dinner with friends, exercising, going to the toilet or walking down the street.

good illustration of the XXIth century madness!

A wonderful slice of modern life. Our fascination with new technology and instant communication seems to grow. I have not seen so many people together on their phones like this. Each one seems to be in their own private world almost unaware of those surrounding them.
A super picture with some interesting colours and reflections too.
Best wishes, Ann

I am not surprised about these picture, we life in a world without real friends only the GSM.
Formerly after WAR II, we have no GSM no telephone no electricity, no bike neither car, everything on foot, we are never come to late, but we had friends and spoke with each other, and make everyday pleasure.
But your picture is very well taken, with a high sharpness and clarity.
Very well done,TFS.
Have a nice day,
