Photographer’s Note

Schloss Favorite ist ein barockes Lust- und Jagdschlösschen in Ludwigsburg in Baden-Württemberg. Es liegt auf einer Anhöhe im Favoritepark in direkter Achse nördlich des Residenzschlosses Ludwigsburg.

Es wurde in den Jahren 1717–1723 von Herzog Eberhard Ludwig nach den Entwürfen des Hofbaumeisters Donato Giuseppe Frisoni im Barockstil erbaut.

Schloss Favorite war bereits bei der Planung als reines Jagdschloss und sommerliche Villa ausgelegt worden mit schönem Ausblick auf das Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg.

1748 diente das Schloss als Kulisse für ein prächtiges Feuerwerk bei der Hochzeit Herzog Carl Eugens mit Elisabeth Friederike Sophie von Brandenburg-Bayreuth.

Schloss Favorite is a Baroque maison de plaisance and hunting lodge in Ludwigsburg, Germany. It is located on a rise, directly north of Ludwigsburg Palace.

It was built from 1717 to 1723 for the sovereign Duke of Württemberg, Eberhard Ludwig, to a design by Donato Giuseppe Frisoni.

From 1806, King Frederick I of Württemberg converted the park into a ménagerie, including deer and chamois. The architect Nikolaus Friedrich von Thouret renovated the building's interior in neoclassical style.

In the 20th century, the house was neglected and fell into disrepair. It was restored from 1980 on, and opened to the public in 1983.

Hallo Herr Nachbar! ;-))
Wieder eine tolle Architekturaufnahme! Das von der Sonne angestrahlte farbenfrohe Schloss zwischen den schon herbstlich angehauchten dunklen Bäumen - ein wunderschönes Kontrast und ein erstauinlicher Effekt. Besser kann man dieses Gebäude nicht hervorheben.

Nicely composed shot of this beautiful castle. The path leads the eye into the shot giving the photo a nice sense of direction. The trees frame the scene beautifully. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has nice sharpness.

I've visited (20 yrs ago..) some Ludwig's castles (Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau), and I like a lot this kind of architecture born by the mind of this prince. The shot is nice, with deep perspective and colorful.
