Photographer’s Note
English:
Some hay bales near my hometown Nendingen. It was my first attempt with a Lee Filter 0,6 ND Hard Grad.
Update:
By way of comparison I made another shot of the same scene without the Lee Filter 0.6 ND Hard Grad and now I've posted it to the WS. This is maybe the better version. I'm thinking about a repost. What do you think?
Update 2:
Due to some friendly and helpful critiques, I did a repost with the alternative version of the WS.

Was meint ihr?
Aktualisierung 2:

Helmut,
I like your composition here with the hay bails creating repeating patterns throughout the shot. The lines in the field leads the eye through the scene nicely. The lighting and colors are great as is the sharpness and DOF. The sky is great and you have presented it nicely.

I use Lee hard edge filters and I think this is not the right situation for the greatest success. They really come into their own in low light situations, or when shooting into the light when the difference in light between ground and sky is wide. Having looked at your previous image I think I can recognise the mistake you made. You had the filter in place and then took your exposure reading, through the filter resulting in the ground being over-exposed. If you take the reading first and then put the filter in place you would have a better result. As you can see with this version the filter wasn't needed as the exposure of both sky and ground is good.

Hello Helmut,
wondeful composition with this great-looking landscape! Amazing colours with the gold of the field and the blue of the sky creating a very nice contrast! Great sharpness and fine DOF! Congratulations!

Guten Morgen Helmut,
I looked to your original version, I found these absolutely not bad, indeed a little bit strong blue in the sky.
Nice picture about the harvest, a nice classic picture.

Very well done, TFS.
