Monrepos (German: Seeschloss Monrepos) is a lakeside palace in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Via narrow pedestrian paths, the little palace is connected to the Favorite Palace, formerly used by the royal family of Württemberg as a hunting lodge, and the Ludwigsburg Palace (Residenzschloss).

Since the 16th century, the dukes of Württemberg enjoyed hunting along the Eglosheimer Lake. In 1714, Duke Eberhard Ludwig had an octagonal pavilion, the "Little Lake House" ("Seehäuslein"), constructed on the northern shore.

Monrepos (frz. "meine Ruhe", "meine Erholung") ist ein Seeschloss in Ludwigsburg. Durch Alleen ist das kleine Schlösschen mit dem Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg und dem Lustschloss Favorite verbunden.

Schon seit dem 16. Jahrhundert hielten sich die Herzöge von Württemberg gerne am Eglosheimer See zur Jagd auf. Herzog Eberhard Ludwig ließ 1714 am nördlichen Ufer einen achteckigen Pavillon, das „Seehäuslein“ errichten.

Unter Herzog Karl Eugen wurde das gesamte Gelände in barocken Formen gestaltet. Seit 1755 schuf man einen rechteckigen See mit geraden Ufern. Wenige Jahre danach beauftragte der Herzog seinen Architekten Philippe de La Guêpière mit der Planung eines barocken Lustschlosses. Die Bauarbeiten begannen 1760, kamen aber nach vier Jahren zum Erliegen. Herzog Karl Eugen interessierte sich zwischenzeitlich mehr für seine anderen Schlossbauprojekte. Die halbfertige Anlage fiel in einen Dornröschenschlaf.

Swietne kolory, piekna tonacja swiatla, sam zamek tez robi wrazenie, poza tym podoba sie lodka na stawie.

A fine composition of this lovely place; I think I prefer this one of the two you have posted so far. I like the angle of view here and the presence of the rowing boat. Very nice light and reflections. Good colours and sharpness.

Still a splendid sight on this superb castle, I acknowledge to prefer this one, I appreciate the smoothness of the image more present on this photograph as well as the good light. Le style architectural du dix-huitième siècle est manifeste. Il émane une élégance particulière par rapport aux styles précédents. L'image est très réussie. J'aime beaucoup l'ensemble, l'image me fait penser à une gravure du dix-huitième siècle justement.

herzlichen Glückwunsch zu dieser grandiosen Leistung! Ich bin auf die nächsten 500 gespannt.
Von den beiden letzten Aufnahmen gefällt mir diese deutlich besser wegen des sehr schönen stimmungsvollen Lichtes und der ausgezeichneten Perspektive. Die sanften Farben tragen ebenfalls zu der wunderschönen Stimmung bei. TFS!

Hello Georg,

this place is so fine that it deserved two shots! (:-)
The composition is well balanced from this pov too and the red boat is a fine eye catcher, but somehow it has less light than the previous one. Perhaps the sun was coverd by a cloud when you shot this one. Anyway it's interesting to see this outstanding building from another angle.

Taka rocznice przegapilem ;) Gratuluje wspanialej galerii oraz zycze kolejnych pieciuset w rownie mistrzowskim stylu. Dzieki Tobie spory kawalek Austrii, Niemiec (to kraje, ktore zrobily na mnie najwieksze wrazenie) jest mi juz troszke bardziej znany. Bardzo ladne zdjecie z wspaniala architektura.
