Photographer’s Note

The Red Mosque of Schwetzingen was built between 1779 and 1792. It isn't actually a mosque since it was only built to look like one but was never invented to be used as a house of worship. It only served its "real" purpose in 1870/71 during the Franco-German war when French prisoners of war from North Africa were allowed to pray in it.
