With this closer view of the bears who skillfully build Cuckoo clocks… I conclude the long series of my photos from our South Germany (97 picture posted and 34 WS's) and Alsace (26 pictures and 8 WS's) trip of 6/2013.
16:9 aspect ratio. Triberg Hauptstrasse location: 48.129, 8.2308 .
Same place, already shown those pictures: The store in full view, and the "Another" view of the bears "family".

Excellent photo of these skillful bears. I not that from you low POV it must hav been a bit difficult get all angles and lines straight but you have made perfect choice with the beam at the bottom perfectly horizontal. TFS and have a fine week!

A gorgeous image, plus very sympathetic with this pair of bears, with gears that emphasize the watch trdicion of the population, the image is captured perfectly and is very nice.
Very pretty color, which gives a lot of life to the image.
A magnificent brightness management, sharpness also
is perfect for enjoying the details.
Very well seen and well taken.

So it's the bears who actually produce the clocks...but who makes the bears? :) Great idea to go in close for this one, bringing out the detail and inner workings of the machinery. A fun and even festive result from this more intimate framing. It's certainly been a very pleasant series to follow along, I sure hope that if you have more, we will see them too at some point. As for now, we'll let the bears sign off and smile just the same. Enjoy the new day ahead. All the best.

Excellent detail photo in perfect light, very good clarity, nice colors. The well-chosen tight crop eliminates all unwanted distractions.
Very well done.
p.s. The foehn which you have described is not the same. It is different from European foehn. This one is caused by the high Alps. It can be caused by cool northern wind, in this case we have foehn temperature effect south of Alps or the southern wind, in this case we have foehn temperature effect north of Alps. The wind can be pretty cold, but it considerably heat up after hitting the Alp mountains, during climbing up it drops most of its moisture. This occurs several times in the year during all seasons. The foehn causes many headaches and also heart and blood circulation problems.

I don't understand why the guy is wearing eyeglasses to work on such huge gears!
He composes with the yodeling lady a nice attraction on each side of the magical mechanism.
ourania (31117) 2014-05-14 8:52
I like very much how you isolated this part from a setting that's quite large and full of details. This scene is autonomous and charming, its perspective is fine and the details it features are so sharp and interesting. You handled the soft lighting very aptly, the chromatic palette is harmonious and pleasing. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,
danos (86787) 2014-05-14 12:50
very nice the close up view as we see a lot of details of the huge
Cuckoo clock, with the bears to 'manage' the hours and the minutes.
Excellent the light and the colour management of the scene as must be the attraction of the town.
