Photo shows a wooden “loving couple” sculpture placed with other wooden sculptures along the Alb river promenade in St. Blasien.
In Black Forest towns and villages the local people are working, producing, organizing, and holding trade and commerce.
At the same time we know that man does not live from bread alone, he needs in the same way, spiritual and aesthetic nourishment.
It is obvious that the culture, art, theater, music and literature are able to give the urban and village life shine.
In this context, also the motto of St. Blasien Wood Sculpture Symposium from 31st August till 6th September 2014: It will light the domes, it sings my town ... This verse is from the Russian writer Marina Tsvetaeva (1892 - 1941), which as a young girl for a short time has stopped in St. Blasien.
It is pointing out that culture is the joy of life and that the symposium in the cathedral town will bring again singing, swinging and shining - as in previous years.
The international artists meeting in St. Blasien is not least a big party, but do not miss it if you are there during first week of September 2014.

The warm tones and textures of this sinuous sculpture dominate the frame to good effect. Good choice of the fisheye to set it in context. Very good technical presentation.

I love the way you have presented this sculpture, an almost fish eye effect from the way you have shot it and it creates a fine 3d effect in the result. Great way to present both the statue and the quaint town behind it. These works do make such a difference to urban spaces, and you have made this sculpture seem huge!
Thanks as always.

Ottima nitidezza, colori molto curati e, ripeto, soggetto e composizione eccellente.
Ciao e buona serata

It is commendable the way the people haven't let art die, and thanks to you for explaining it so well.
I have never used a fisheye, but love the effect in your photo.
Have a nice day.

Wow, does the fish-eye ever have a superb effect on this composition! Greatly supporting the sculpture at the forefront of this shot, the effect your lens renders on this scene is outstanding. I'm sure this would have been interesting in its own right, but the result you've achieved here takes on a new appeal with stronger impact.
The richness of color from the wooden sculpture is amazing, and you took this with enough sunlight to accent the overall form. What else can I say, another unexpected surprise from the region...awesome! :) Enjoy the rest of the weekend...or maybe just relax after all those rounds of golf?? :) Take care.

Good evening Miro,
Beautiful brown shining color of the wooden-sculpture, placed on a place and gave an impressive contrast to its surrounding.
Mayber a wider scope would give a bit different view on - my humble opinion, merely.
*** Mind you, Beit-Jala is not Jerusalem, not even Israel any more.

Bonjour, cher Miro,
Cette sculpture monumentale (du moins, je le suppose) donne le ton à l'environnement. Le choix du cadrage est très judicieux et ressort avec évidence.
Très bonne journée.

nicer view of the sculpture. I liked the contrast between the colors here. good sharpness and nice view of architecture ahead. Maybe I would put the sculpture a little more off the center. anyway a beautiful job.

I like the effect of the fisheye here! The statue is great in foreground and the quality is very good. I like the light, colours and the beautiful sky.
