I have promised to post one photo of famous abbey church St. Blasius a St Blasien's Benedictine monastery which was mentioned for the first time in the 9th century.
The abbey church as you can see on the photo was rebuilt in the Early Classic (Baroque) style between 1768 and 1783 after the original abbey church was burnt down in 1768.
The church was modeled after the Pantheon in Rome with an enormous dome 46 m diameter and 63 m high (the third-largest in Europe north of the Alps).
The effects of another catastrophic fire in 1874 were only finally remedied in the 1980s.

bella condivisione, un'architettura interessante con belle rifiniture, come gli orologi e la croce.
Splendida luce, i tetti in rame ossidato sono bene in mostra.

Before reading your note, I did think this place looks quite imperial, and now I know from your informative note the reason why. This is the last type of building I would expect to find in the black forest, but you did say that you would be posting some surprises from here! I like the off centre composition a lot, and the light behind is almost heavenly. Fantastic place, and one I am very pleased to learn of today.

When I first read the title I thought, "Sure, a church in a town, a standard urban setting...great," but wow...this actually does look to be completely surrounded by the traditional Black Forest dense landscape, as if it really was the only structure deep within the trees. :) Another fun surprise from the locale.
For its relative simplicity, it really is quite a striking church...bold and stout. Regardless of the actual environment, you've composed this to be right in line with the region and general associations. Clear, sharply focused and the directional light is the icing on the cake...this looks wonderful! Have a great week ahead. All the best.

Impressive facade in view, Miro, those big pillars and dome are an eye catching element.
Black-Forest trees on the background, provide a fine decoration to the marvelous church's architecture.
Side light enhanced the outlines.

I had the pleasure to visit this impressive church but sadly have no photos from this time. I am glad to see it in your gallery. The façade would probably look even better lit directly but of course thanks to the back light you have the advantage of amazing sky as a background. And the forest is black indeed!
Very well done!

A brilliant shot in all its glory, well taken and processed with loads of detail giving a lovely clean and crisp finish to this super image. I think you have brought out the best in the architecture perfectly aligned verticals really bring out the character within the frame. Deep colour of the dome absolutely sings out and the whole of the edifice stands out from the blue sky and bit of side warm light gives a subtle touch. A fine architectural shot worthy of an effort, Super catch, tfs

interesting the style of this building, looks so heavy with the large dome and the low and strong towers. I liked the view that let us see each detail. beautiful compo.

Fine view of 18th century St. Blasius, the large entrance columns, two domed clock towers, then the dominating arched dome with copper (?) top, and all in subdued lighting and good resolution.

I hear that Germany is full of unique and contrasting styles of architecture...I guess this fits the bill too.
Interesting to note that it was modeled after the Pantheon! thats cool.
I like the broad stance, it appears strong and sturdy.
cool shot when its placed over to the side.

Interesting note about a building not typical of the BF, but of Rome, as your note said
Good management of side light that made bright the golden ornaments
Very well done, kind regards
