Photographer's Note

With last photo I’ve presented the roof of Swiss Laufenburg. In this photo you can see the houses in German Laufenburg which situated on the other side of Rhine River.

The end of connecting old stone Rhine River Bridge can be seen in the lower right corner. Usually there are no passport controls on the bridge.

The water of Rhine River has brown and not the usual green-blue color. This color change was caused by heavy rains during past few days.

In the background is the protestant church with nice clock tower. The larger and older Parish Church of St. Oswald and Pelagius, which is situated at the left side on the hill 38 meters above the town, is not visible in this photo.

It is also interesting to mention that Laufenburg has two railway stations on opposite sides of the Rhine River, one belonging to DB-German Railways) and one to SBB-Swiss Railways.

The Swiss station has direct trains every hour from Basel Swiss Main Train Station. The German station has direct trains every hour from Basel German Station and from Waldshut.

The roads leading to Laufenburg also go along the banks of the Rhine with beautiful view on both sides. Nearby airports are Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg EuroAirport (47km) and Zürich-Kloten International Airport (64km).
