Shepard and his assistant is watching their sheep herd crossing the public road.
According to my counting, this sheep herd contained more then 250 sheep.
The location is small village of Hoechenschwand in German south Black Forest, altitude 1'000 meters above sea level.

Counted less than 30 sheeps, but no argue about, Miro - I know some big herds can be brought up such numbers.
Great composition with B&W and green in contrast, light managed super.

A fine composition and a cleverly handled post-processing. The well looking sheep provide a beautiful sight and by leaving the field green you make the grass waiting for them look very appetizing. I like the curving road and the nicely placed trees.

Beautiful and original composition, and a superb job of post processing to make the image on this combination of B & W and other areas in color, the result I love, but I think it should be a big job and time consuming realize it, but the result is great .
A magnificent brightness management, sharpness is also perfect.
Have a nice day.

Hi Miro, be sure I don't forget you! Life in the countryside of Germany, a group of sheeps are crossing the road, a scene reminding ancient times, yes that's it! I see a small one on the middle left of the frame. Regards

Un travail de désaturation partielle intéressante, j'aime comme le seul mouton brun se détache des autres!! le compte est bon :-)
belle composition et réalisation

nice the view of this rural scene with the half of it to be desaturating.Excellent presentation as light and colour management.

I think your count may be off just a bit, there's no way 250 sheep are in this picture! :) Very interesting what you've done here with the selective color, it makes for quite a compelling take on a routine activity. I think it works well in this this instance because you've gone with two different sections of the scene, and the selected portions tie it all together nicely...one of these sheep is not like the others. lol
I get the perception that once they cross the road and begin to graze on the other side is when they'll regain their coloring. Effective and creative PP work. Enjoy the new day ahead. All the best.

Salut cher Miro
This looked a little like Australia at first glimpse, interesting that they have a similar breed of sheep to ours, in contrast to those of the British Isles. Interesting also your choice to partially desaturate the image. I am not a huge fan of this type of post-processing, but it certainly makes the photo unique, whilst still being attractive.
Warmest wishes and have a happy evening

Near pandemonium. I guess the sheep kept you waiting. But what a shot!
Love the effect.

You're capturing well this spectacle by a good angle and excellent tone and effective selective color, so it's interesting and impressive to see the sheep herd crossing the road, and its sand his assistant. It seems to the pastoral and plesant scene in counrtside.

I liked the way you used the elements in color here. good point of view and interesting scenery. I thought there wasn't more shepherds in Germany and I am thinking how much is her or his salary.
ourania (41132) 2014-06-03 9:07
you treated this scene in an original and creative way adding to it superb dynamism and much interest. The selective colour highlights certain parts of the scene without undermining the impact of the whole. Movement is conveyed superbly and the herd stands out as 3D in a deep and comprehensible scenery. There's also a sense of drama that contrasts the simple and peaceful scene. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
