Black Forest is not only about dark forest with large trees, wooden houses, small lakes and streams.
Black forest offering also beautiful views. Especially the view from southern hills to Swiss Alps. Do not believe that you can view the Alps mountains which are more then 100 km away every day.
You must be lucky to be on the right spot during the day (possible early morning or later afternoon) with excellent visibility.
The days when the foehn wind (warm, down-slope wind that occurs in the downwind side of a mountain range that has dropped most of its moisture on windward slopes) occurs are offering perfectly clean atmosphere with great visibility.
This occurred in central & northern Switzerland and southern Germany several times during my stay in April.
I've posted in this gallery similar photo in 2012, but that was taken in September. Both photos taken from almost identical place (Grafenhausen-Hoechenschwand).

Splendid panorama looking over the forest canopy towards the Alps. I like the lighting and vivid colour contrasts; also the excellent depth.

A fantastic panorama, covering an expanse of this great forest mass, its large green magnificent picture has excellent DOF, with the line of mountains, emerging from the clouds.
Very well balanced lighting and very good sharpness.
Well done. I love it.
Wish you a very nice week.

Good evening Miro,
The Foehn wind which you describ nicely, is known mostly in the eastern-Roki's mountain and called Katabatic-wind, a nature's phenomenon mostly happening during hot summer's days.
I like the tight crop horizontally of this photo, green and blue divided.
Not so black, as the name derived from.

Good panoramic view seen and taken by you. Nicely cropped pic.

This is a spectacular view of the Alps from the Black Forest. The haze above the plateau obscure the foothills of the Alps and they appear as though they are magically suspended in the air. Super view!

I've had a tough time keeping up the last couple of weeks, and somehow let this one slip by!? I really like what you started off with in your note, steering away from the traditional cliches of the Black Forest...although, it's hard to deny their appeal as well. :) A super view over the terrain, and justice well served for the panoramic cut. This plays right into the hands of what you are wanting to express. I first thought what I was seeing in the sky were a unique band of clouds, but a wonderful surprise of Alps instead. :) Colors, clarity and detail...yep, you caught this on a good day alright, looks terrific! Enjoy the new day ahead. All the best.

at first view it looks like clouds, but we can see how it is strange and then we can see the alps. very nice view mixing the impressive barrier against the pines in the foreground.

You're capturing well this landscape by a good panoramic view and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the forest with lush green and loose slope in the distance. Here seems to keep the rich nature, and it harmonizes well with blue sky in spring.
