Photographer’s Note

I continue trawling through my archive of slides for this series of pictures taken on a trip to Heidelberg in May 1991.

All pictures were taken on slide film (probably Kodak Ektachrome). They have since been scanned and converted to digital using Photoshop and NeatImage.

A close-up on one of several fountains in the beautiful city of Heidelberg in Germany. This fountain located in the middle of the Karlplatz is dedicated to humanist and cosmographer Sebastian Münster (1488-1552), who spent several years in a Franciscan monastery in Heidelberg in the early 16th century. Michael Schoenholtz created the fountain in 1978, when the square was being remade to install an underground car park beneath it.
