Photographer’s Note

German people in Freiburg adore bikes ! It is absolutly amazing how many bicycles you can see there ! The city is quite flat, so you don't have to make a lot of effort ;-)

When I was there, I thought to myself "wow there is something to do with so much cycles"

I was on a bridge and saw this litle cycle painted and the shadow on the floor. I just waited to have then a biker and here we go !

I just have a though to this photographer who waited too long to take that picture... I didn't see first that he would take the same picture as me... I was faster, sorry !

wow, i wonder what the theme of this photo is?! amazing how many bikes you caught here. and it's a nice composition with that great shadow. great work. a little too sharpened-looking though.

Hi Mireille, very attractive bike picture, I like your composition very much with the person seen on the back.
VERY nice lines because of the pavement, and all the bicycles are so good.
Your B&W is very well chosen., anD a very nice point of view!

Composition here is top notch!
Very interesting b/w with some nice tones and contrast.
I don't mind the grain and think it works well here - maybe if the sharpness wasn't that hard...

So many different bikes in one shot! Excellent POV, nice diagonals, interesting shadows, very-very good composition, B&W works very well... A classic image.

C'est excellent comme point de vue Mireille et cela fait pas de vélos sur une photo! Si on compte le marquage au sol, le panneau et les ombres, il y en a 7...
En tout cas, c'est une idée en prendre si je vais en Flandre ou aux Pays-Bas...

I love it! Very creative idea with all the bikes in the shot, and the high contrast BW looks great. I kind of wish that we could see the full shadow of the bike in the upper left though--but it may spoil the comp too, dunno.

Beaucoup d'humour dans ce cliché dont le choix du N&B lui apporte la touche d'originalité.

Sincèrement une photo qui mérite d'être publiée en exposition.
J'apprécie le jeu d'ombre.
Le cadrage est parfait, l'échelle des gris est complète, ce qui signifie que c'est un bon N&B.

This is more of a painting, optical effect. Really impressive shot, really impressive eye.. congratulation.

It seems however that the quality was lowered by the picture size reduction... or is it on purpose that the image looks so sharp?
