Well. This ship is probably no the real "Flying Dutchman", the one that can never go home, doomed to sail the seas forever.
I was on another ship during a harbour tour in Rostock and I had a good angle and a long lens mounted.
Then I saw the flag at the stern and inmediatelly I thought in our good photographers and better friends Tue, alvaraalto, the Zwemmer.
This is for them.
But they do not need a ship to sail the oceans of photography: they are natural Zwemmer (swimmers).
----
PS: The words "flying" and "dutchman" seem to be an inseparable couple. They have been used in several senses. I like them especially as nickname of Fanny Blankers-Koen (1918-2004) who won four gold medals in the Olympic Games in London 1948: 100 m, 200 m, 80 m hurdles and 4 x 100 m.
Fanny was already 30 years old and the World War II disturbed her career. When she won these olimpic medals her oldiest child was 7 years old. |

Hej Clemente,
Thank you for this photo and the kind words in your note. It's a very good view of this beautiful ship, captured from a very good POV. The sails look very nice I think and the light is enhancing. Well done!
Regards,
Lars
PS - Talking about flying dutchmen. Maybe you know, but there's also a non-flying Dutchman, it was the nickname for Ajax and Arsenal striker Dennis Bergkamp, who had a fear of flying and therefore never could play away games when they were played too far from home to go there by car. :-)
