Canaletto - Blick Photo

Photographer’s Note

All around the old town of Dresden, beautifully reconstructed after the bombings of World War II, you can find several empty frames through which you can the very views painted by famous artists of the past.

This one is the spectacular 'Canaletto view' (see map) named after Giovanni Antonio Canal (1697 – 1768) better known as Canaletto, famous particularly for his landscapes of Venice.

Der Titel und dieser "Rahmen" - einfach umwerfend! Ein einfallsreicher und sehr schöner Beitrag hier auf TE, der sogar "etwas aus dem Rahmen fällt" ;-))
Eine Tolle Idee, Dresden sooo zu zeigen!

Hi Guenther,
I find the idea of empty frames very original,and instructive too. This perspective remember me Salamanca,a town in the west of Spain,it has a very similar view. Thanks for sharing your sunny shot and for the information.

Uuhhh, Günther! Mi hai colpito al centro del cuore, con questa tua splendida, e intelligentissima, veduta di Dresda. E' una città che amo moltissimo. I nonni del mio marito americano erano di Dresda e io ci sono stata con lui, prima che si ammalasse. E che ricordi conservo, di quella stupenda città! Ti ringrazio per questa straordinaria immagine della "Firenze sul'Elba".
E poi: questo tuo scatto é un vero colpo di genio. Ma certo: un quadro del Canaletto. E il Canaletto, in questo caso, sei tu: con la tua macchina fotografica.

Hallo Günther,
interessanter Blick durch diesen Rahmen und eine tolle Idee mit diesen leeren Rahmen. Dieser "Canaletto view" wirkt aber auch wirklich wie ein schönes Gemälde auf den Betrachter. Gut gesehen und auch ganz im Sinne von TE erklärt. Gefällt mir sehr gut.

Original idea to have used this easel forsaken by its owner the time of a photograph… I like much, and that gives much of depth to the image and emphasizes well this superb architecture. Good management of the luminosity, well done Guenther.
