Photographer’s Note

The Dresden Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) is a Lutheran church located on the Dresden Neumarkt.

The original baroque church was built between 1726 and 1743 and was designed by Dresden's city architect Georg Bähr (1666–1738).

It was destroyed in the firebombing of Dresden (1945)during World War II and has been reconstructed after the reunion of Germany. The reconstruction with some original stones (the dark ones) lasted about 13 years. The church was reconsecrated on 31 October 2005.
