Photographer’s Note
This little guy fell asleep in the baby carriage during his daily walk. The Germans I have met are really big on the tradition of taking their kids out for a walk every day, rain or shine, snow or heat. I think they do it to make sure their kids get enough fresh air.
One of my American friends said that she was discussing the subject of walks with her German neighbors once, and she said something about the weather being too bad sometimes for a walk. They looked at her like she was insane and said, "We have a baby! We MUST go on walks!"
I think it is an interesting custom, and very nice. I have joined some German families for their evening walk sometimes, and I found it to be a relaxing way to end the day. Slow down, just take a stroll and enjoy nature.
