Hello Gunnar,
A good well balanced composition of this pretty square with its lovely old houses; I like the way the roofs go up and down on the two taller ones. Light and colours are both very good and the detail is well rendered in the architecture.

there's something special about German towns, they make me happy in there brothers of Grim loo. I mean who wouldn't like to have really good beer on this square.
great comp with roof of the houses make the image almost flat.

Well seen detail, Gunnar, this slightly humorous study from the fine half-timbered town in eastern Germany. Well contrasted with good details and vivid colors rendered in the afternoon light. The woman looking at the left side is a good addition to your photo. Nice capture.

Hallo Gunnar!
What a beautiful sight! What interstingly twisted houses. I also like the relaxed atmosphere of this place and the whole composition of the photo. These trees are a wonderful addition here, especially concerning colours. A really worth-seeing photo and a worth-visiting town...
Greetings from cool and cloudy Siegen!

Hello Gunnar
Very good sharpness, with a nice warm cold colour contrast, between the red/orange roofs & blue sky. The strange distorted perspective of the architecture is eyecatching.

Bonjour Gunnar,
trsè spéciales ces façades qui manquent de verticalité, on fréfère les voir qu'y habiter. Une photo très nette aux teintes naturelles cadrée come il le fallait. La scène est peu calme mais les masons bien dégagées.
Amicalement.
Daniel.

Hi Gunnar, Funny shot of this a bit deformed house. I suppose it must be very old one. It seems the master who built it was not sober. I love such half-timbered houses. Nice composition.

Hej Gunnar,
:)) Amazing! the house seems to be trying to find some room for itself, and I have an impression that it is about to push its "neighbours" aside in a couple of moments!
Very interesting observation, and top quality shot!
Warm greetings from windy Moscow,
Elena
PS. what's happened to "Can You Play Hard Bop?" Yesterday I was too tired to think of anything and wanted to review it today, so I saved it in my browser cache (the browser window remained open)... but there is no trace left of it today :(

half timbered houses are a very rewarding subject for the photographer. You have captured these treasures excellently. Very beautiful colors and a perfect light. The woman adds a nice human touch to the composition. TFS!

Hej Gunnar,
Funny and very well spotted. I really looks like the house is squeezed. The colours and lighting are very attractive here and you were certainly there at the right time of the day. I love the quiet atmosphere of this scene. TFS and have a nice day!

Hej Gunnar,
A beautiful photo of these interesting looking half timbered houses. Indeed, it looks like there had not been room enough for all houses and the houses are pushing away each other. :) Great quality in this one too.

Hello, Gunnar.
What fabulous buildings! These really are remarkable - I just wonder which of these two buildings was constructed first? Or if, being hotels, they were simply extended upwards independently at various times?
Still, we might ponder these questions but there is no question that this picture is well-composed, has excellent colours and is as sharp as a razor. The oblique lighting from the early evening sun is wonderful.
If I have any slight criticism, it might be that the sky is just a tad pale, but that's a very minor point.
Best Wishes,
John.

Hej Gunnar,
How nice to see that you managed to visit Quedlinburg. I was there on a study tour of medieval architecture in 1970, when this was part of the DDR. I remember drinking some wine in a nice bar, and then I don't remember much more.
This is an amusing and well composed picture of some remarkable buildings. I've tried to figure out if the photo is tilted, but I'm pretty sure that the tilt is only in the houses themselves.
Hälsningar,
Gert
