Photographer’s Note
Here I show you a really imaginative building in Magdeburg, eastern Germany. It is called "Die grüne Zitadelle" (the green citadel) and it was planned by the Austrian all-round artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928 - 2000). It was completed in 2005.
Hundertwasser once called the straight line "godless" because it doesn't occur in nature. Following this his creations show only swung lines, as you can see here. The "green citadel" contains 55 dwellings, a hotel, a lot of shops and offices, restaurants and a kindergarten. Here you can see it by day.

Hi , Frank . This looks really surreal !
It's called the GREEN ( ?? ) citadel ?
I think it looks like a fairytale castle - a nice and cosy place to spend the evening and with a special atmosphere , but I don't think I would like to spend the daytime around this building . Interesting shot , though !
All the best to you !
Dorte.

Hello Frank
Great night capture. I like the colours and lighting. Fascinating buildings, although if are the nice - it depends on the man`s humour ;).
Greetings from starting to be windy, but still quite warm Slupsk :)

Hello Frank,
This photo is a perfect illustration of the big difference between France and Germany. In France, you see old stones. Germany is a paradise for architects. They dare, are imaginative, dream a new world...
Nice photo by night.
Thanks for sharing

Wow, this is an impressive and unusual building Frank. Both your day and night shots of it are good. It seems a little strange to me that there would be a kindergarten in there. I guess it services the people who reside in the complex. Nice shot. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers,
Debbie

Guten Tag Frank,
Photoes performed night are not the same, what what copying of pictures caught in the full light of day. The night photograph this exhibition of the firm fight of the shadow and the light with the all row of new elements, met in the daytime. From here such personnels fascinate with the unparalleled mood, with other colouring and the unusual chiaroscuro. With all to these we deal on this good photograph, where the close by interested tale you show the fascinating place in the interested lighting and the very good realization.
Best regards (you can disbelieve Franc, but we have superb weather) from continually solar Poznan,

hi frank
Interesting setting in the night variation of this most spectacular building. Difficult light and maybe even a shorter shutter time had worked. I also looked at the daylight version and must say for sure this is a very orginal architechture. Interesting..

Hi Frank
At first I thought I saw a Gaudi building in Barcelona.
Green?or pink...
Nice view and mood under the light
The detail shown here is more interresting
then the building.
Nice work

hi frank,
great job & viele grüße, thorsten.

Hi Frank,
this is a very impressive structure and you've presented it in a very arty style, mainly in pink! I don't see much green in here, perhaps Hundertwasser was colour blind? A fine image Frank and something different, well seen.
Respekt

It is interesting to see another of Hundertwasser's architectural delights - thank you Frank! But I think our NZ Loos in Kawakawa are the BEST!!
Cheers
